About
Over 40 years ago, Dr. Gregory “Doc” Smith discovered his passion: helping people achieve a more comfortable, joyful life. A registered pharmacist, he decided to pursue a career in chiropractic after experiencing the benefits of this healing discipline firsthand.
From the very start of his training, Dr. Smith embraced a holistic approach to chiropractic care and this shines through in his dealings with patients today. He excels at listening to people and putting together the “clues” that lead to an accurate diagnosis. Dr. Smith works collaboratively with patients to not only eliminate their physical pain, but also help them achieve wellness and vitality in all aspects of their life.
Dr. Smith graduated from University of Arizona College of Pharmacy, where he was awarded the Henry Winship III Outstanding Undergraduate (1976) He went on to practice pharmacy along side his father using homeopathic and herbs along with traditional medicine.
Following his decision to expand careers, Dr. Smith received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree with honors from Life West Chiropractic College. While undergoing his internship training, he was honored with the Excellence in Care award and participated in an extern preceptorship at the Life West Clinic. He has also done extensive post-graduate work and received Advanced Medical Qi Gong training from Grand Master Hong Liu.
Dr. Smith is certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and is a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic in California, Nevada, and Arizona. He is also certified through Functional Medicine University (FMU) program in Functional Diagnostic Medicine. He completed the Whiplash and Brain Injury Traumatology Graduate Course in 2001 from Spine Research Institute of San Diego (SRISD). He was appointed as a Qualified Medical Examiner Years 2001 thru 2009 for the State of California. Achieved the Chiropractic Independent Medical Examiner (CIME) certificate thru ABIME in 2002 thru 2004.
From his office in Kings Beach, CA, Dr. Smith offers chiropractic services to patients from Incline Village, North Lake Tahoe, Truckee, and nearby communities.
